The PHP programming language is no longer just a common scripting language for developing small interactive web sites. The support for object oritented programming that was added with the release of PHP 5.0 has shrinked the existing gap between PHP on the one hand and Java EE and .NET on the other. Developing large scale copmlex systems in PHP has become an option many companies serioucely consider. PHP frameworks such as Symphony and Zend Framework gain an increasing popularity. In many cases, PHP is now a possible alternative for Java EE and .NET. Concurrently with this evolvement we can see a growing usage of unit testing. Unit testing becomes an expected part of every software development process. The PHPUnit open source framework provides PHP developers with a rich set of toos they can use when unit testing their work. The professional 'PHPUnit Framework' course was developed in order to provide PHP developers with the required knowledge and practice in order to use PHPUnit when unit testing their work. Ajax is an umbrella name foprogramming techniques make an extensive use of JavaScript, HTML and XML. In addition, in many cases we can also find an extensive use of CSS. Using ajax, the JavaScript code running in our browser can communicate directly with the server. This communication is based on using the XmlHttpRequest JavaScript object. Instead of having the communication between our borwser and the server via standard browser refreshes, using this object we can get an asynchronous data transfer allowing our page getting small bites of data and updating small parts of the screen accordingly. During this course you will become familiar with the various ready to use ajax frameworks such as jQuery, dojo and ExtJS. In addition, you will learn how to implement the Dynamic Script Tag pattern when working with the JSON format. Though the small code samples in this course use PHP, this course doesn't focus on any specific server side technology and focuses on the client side only. Whether the server side was developed in Java, PHP or .NET each and every part of this course remains relevant. You can find the community version of this course available for free personal and academic usage at www.abelski.com. The commercial professional vesion is available at www.xperato.com.
